BCCO Purpose
The Building Code Compliance Office provides continuous improvement in the effective maintenance, uniform interpretation and application of the building code; empowers stakeholders by clarifying complex building code issues through responsive, accurate and consistent guidance and assistance; improves the level of construction oversight by maintaining the proficiency and performance of code certified personnel through a comprehensive, focused and sound training program; improves public service through the timely investigation and resolution of construction related constituent complaints; enhances the safety of the community through the proactive pursuit, prosecution and eradication of unlicensed contractor activity and actively promotes building contractor accountability through the uniform administration and enforcement of local and state licensing ordinances and statutes and ensures the health, safety and welfare of the community through the comprehensive review and judicious approval of building envelope elements, components and systems.
