Examinations for certificates of competency and eligibility are offered once a month. The exams are open book and the required books for each exam category can be found on the licensing requirements for each license.

Exams are offered in English or Spanish and special accommodations can be made for those who have disabilities.

On the day of the exam our exam provider will assign you a Personal Identification Number which you can use to access their dial-in examination results system. After taking one of our examinations, it generally takes 3 more days before your score is posted.

Generally, two (2) weeks after the exam you will receive a grading report from the exam provider (Gainesville Independent Testing Service, LLC) indicating your grade and if you passed the exam. You will receive your license from our office in 3 to 4 weeks. If you are not satisfied with your exam score you may request a review from the Examination Company, there is a small fee associated with the review.
