Baynanza 2011 Boat Captains

Register your boat and participate as a Boat Captain in the Baynanza 2011 Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 16, 2011 from 8 a.m. - noon and you will automatically qualify for a chance to win an annual *Boat Ramp Pass good at any Miami-Dade Park Marina. You must be registered as a Baynanza 2011 Boat Captain you must participate at the April 16th event to be eligible.

What do you have to do as a boat captain?

During the Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, Boat Captains will transfer enthusiastic volunteers to nearby islands in Biscayne Bay. These islands accumulate trash and debris throughout the year, and many would not get cleaned without the efforts of our Baynanza volunteers. Boats will NOT transport any trash.

There are five sites to choose from across Miami-Dade County, so chances are there's one near you. Register early because Cleanup Day sites fill-up fast.

Volunteer Boat Captains and their First Mates will receive a special long-sleeve Baynanza T-shirt** for their participation in Baynanza 2011. Water*** is provided and additional life vests are available if needed.

* Two Boat Ramp Passes, each worth $176.55, will be randomly selected among eligible boat captains who participate in the cleanup event on April 16. The drawing will be held by April 30 and winners will be notified by May 31. Ramp passes are not transferable. Passes are good for one year and need to be claimed in person by June 30, 2011. First place and second place winners will each receive one annual Ramp Pass.

*** Please note that safety is a priority for Biscayne Bay Cleanup Day, so drinking alcoholic beverages is not permitted during this event.
