Adopting a Buoy

Individuals, groups and corporations can help protect natural and artificial reefs from anchor damage by making donations to help fund the maintenance and installation of the mooring buoys.

There are several levels of contribution:

 Coral Reef ambassador

Coral Reef Ambassador - Donation of $3,000
Your donation will pay for installation and one year of maintenance for one mooring buoy or 2 years of maintenance for one mooring buoy.

 Coral Reef benefactor

Coral Reef Benefactor - Donation of $1,500
Your donation will help for one year of maintenance for one mooring buoy or help pay for the installation of one mooring buoy at an approved site.

 Coral Reef sponsor Coral Reef Friend - Donation of $500
Your donation will help pay for six months of maintenance for one mooring buoy.
 Large Coral Colony sponsor Large Coral Colony Friend - Donation of $250
Your donation will help pay for three months of maintenance for one mooring buoy. 
 Small Coral Colony sponsor Small Coral Colony Friend - Donation of $75
Your donation will help cover a portion of one quarterly maintenance inspection for one mooring buoy.

Coral Polyp sponsor

Coral Polyp Friend - Donation of $25
Your donation will help cover a portion of a monthly maintenance inspection for one mooring buoy.

All donations will get acknowledged (unless you wish to remain anonymous). For donations at the Coral Reef Ambassador or Benefactor levels, an acknowledgement decal can be placed directly on the buoy.

A contribution at any level would be greatly appreciated. To make a donation to the Miami-Dade Mooring Buoy Program, please fill out the Adopt-a-Buoy form  and send it to the following address:
