What is the Potable Water Supply Construction permit used for?
This permit regulates the construction of the community's water treatment systems in Miami-Dade County.
Why is the Potable Water Supply Construction permit necessary?
The permit is necessary in order to ensure that our water supply is protected in interim systems where public water utilities are not available.
What other permits are needed for the Potable Water Supply Construction Application before I can start work?
You must obtain a permit to drill a well from the Department of Heath (DOH). Please contact DOH at 305-623-3570. Also, depending on the type of facility, there may be other permits required for construction and/or installation of a treatment system. Call the Plan Review Section at 786-315-2800 for additional information prior to construction.
How long does it take to process the Potable Water Supply Construction Application?
Approximately one week.
How much are the Potable Water Supply Construction Application fees?
For community water supply facilities, the plan review fee is based on the estimated cost of project construction for the water supply facility. For non-community water supply facilities, the plan review is based on the quantity of persons within the property limits. Please see the Fee Schedule.
How long is the Potable Water Supply Construction permit valid?
