Governmental Affairs Division
The Governmental Affairs Division in the Department of Emergency Management & Homeland Security serves a multifaceted function. First, this division is responsible for coordinating an effective disaster-related response and information dissemination system for the Mayor’s Office, the County Manager’s Office, the Board of County Commissioners, and other elected officials. Furthermore, this division consistently monitors local, state, and federal legislation relating to emergency management and homeland security. The Governmental Affairs liaison also coordinates several emergency preparedness plans and prepares a legislative briefing book relating to emergency management.
