On 2/3/2014, Lazaro Solis took the oath of office and began his term as Property Appraiser.

2013 July 1st Preliminary Taxable Values

The Office of the Property Appraiser released the July 1st Preliminary Certification of taxable values to taxing authorities across Miami-Dade County. The countywide taxable value for 2013 is $197,133,835,984, a 3.39% increase from 2012.

Initial Certification of 2013 Tax Roll

In accordance with Section 193.122, Florida Statutes, Public Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners, upon the request of the Tax Collector, ordered the extension of the 2013 Tax Rolls on September 4, 2013. The Property Appraiser, being satisfied that all property is properly taxed, certified the tax rolls on October 17, 2013. This certification is the initial certification of the entire 2013 Real and Tangible Personal Property Assessment Rolls under Section 193.122(2), Florida Statutes, unadjusted by any changes to be made by the Value Adjustment Board after hearing pending tax appeals for 2013.

Amendment 11

Additional homestead exemption for low-income seniors who maintain long-term residency on property. Effective for 2013, a new law authorizes cities and counties to grant additional homestead property tax relief to low-income seniors who have lived in their home for at least 25 years.

Save Our Seniors Relief Fund Program

In December, 2012 Miami-Dade County mailed $100 checks to senior homeowners who benefited from the Additional Homestead Exemption for Persons 65 and Older (better known as the Senior Exemption). The check is made out to the homeowner who qualified for the senior exemption on January 1, 2012.

Final Certification of 2011 Tax Roll

In accordance with Section 193.122, Florida Statutes, Public Notice is hereby given that the Property Appraiser has recertified the 2011 Real and Tangible Personal Property Assessment Rolls at the close of business day May 29, 2013. This recertification reflects all changes made by the Value Adjustment Board prior to May 22, 2013, together with any adjustments or changes made by the Property Appraiser.
