Activities at A.D. Barnes Park/Leisure Access Center

Adult Day Training
The Leisure Access Center offers adults ( 21+) with developmental disabilities a meaningful day of activities through the Adult Day Training Program (ADT), funded by the Medicaid Waiver. Participants are engaged in activities that focus on improving independence, self advocacy, fitness, nutrition awareness, and community and socials skills.  This program takes place year round Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Swim Team
A certified Red Cross certified Water safety instructor teaches swim participants  ages 21 and older with developmental disabilities to improve stroke techniques & prepares participants for Special Olympics competitions. Basic swimming skills are required. This program takes place Tuesdays & Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. -.6:00 p.m.

Basketball Team
Adults 21 years and older with developmental disabilities learn a variety of sports such as Basketball, Bowling, Track & Field, and prepare to compete in Special Olympics. This program has a cost of $40.00 per month and takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Saturdays in the Park (SIP)
Adults 21 years and older with developmental disabilities will be engaged in social programs with community outings during which they will work on life, social and safety skills.  This program has a cost of $30.00 per week and it takes place on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Fun on Friday (FOF)
Adults 21 years and older with developmental disabilities will be engaged in social programs with community outings during which they will work on life, social and safety skills.  This program has a cost of $25.00 per week and it takes place on Fridays from 6:00pm to 10:30pm.
