We appreciate our volunteers and recognize them for a job well done!
At Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, we believe that our volunteers are an integral part of our organization. We are always looking to the citizens of Miami-Dade County as our source of assistance and realize how volunteers not only allow us to reach our organizational goals, but also to assist us in keeping the pulse of our society in our hands by their integration into our workforce. Whether it's working with the children in our after-school care programs, assisting a child in a wheelchair to color, helping in the decoration activities for the holidays, planting a butterfly garden, clearing out a natural area from debris, or being involved through a specific group such as Hands On Miami, In Da House or our Teen Programs, it is our desire that the volunteers who come to our organization find a sense of ownership toward the areas being enhanced by their services.
Miami-Dade Parks welcomes these individuals as they are truly the conscience of society and the assistance every organization seeks. It is due to this that the Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department organizes an annual recognition event for the sole purpose of saying "THANK YOU" to the many dedicated volunteers and partnering organizations.
We would like to say "Thanks" to the UM Law HOPE Center for choosing Parks as one of the host sites for their annual day of service. This group completed maintenance projects such as mountain bike trail maintenance and general park clean up at four of our parks: Amelia Earhart, Blackpoint, Sgt. Delancy, and Greynolds. At Parks we welcome groups such as UM Law HOPE Center as it gives us the opportunity to provide our residents a first hand look into the recreation activities available in our community parks. It allows us to share the responsibility of being good stewards of our surrounding environment.
As a volunteer, you are joining the Parks Department during a very exciting time as we expand our capital improvements over the next 20 years...
