About Miami-Dade County Department of Planning & Zoning
The Miami-Dade County Department of Planning and Zoning is the County agency responsible for the planning and growth management in Miami-Dade County. We gather and analyze data about land use, population, employment and urban development patterns within Miami-Dade County.
We also administer the zoning regulations for unincorporated Miami-Dade County, prepare zoning recommendations, coordinate all concurrency management-related activities, review development plans for compliance with zoning regulations, issue certificates of use and occupancy, administer impact fee programs, coordinate zoning and non-zoning community council-related activities and provide technical support to zoning meetings of Community Councils and Board of County Commissioners.
The Department also prepares and maintains the Comprehensive Development Master Plan (CDMP) and unincorporated area plans.
