Mobile Food Service Special Events (MOFSE) 

On May 17, 2011 the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners adopted an ordinance establishing zoning regulations to guide special events consisting of a concentration of mobile food service operators or food trucks (MOFSE) on private property in the unincorporated portion of the County. 

Ordinance No. 11-32  became effective on June 17, 2011 and it requires that an annual Certificate of Use be issued for the site where the MOFSE is to be conducted. The property owner will be the applicant, recipient and holder of the Certificate of Use. 

Ordinance No. 11-32 also requires written waivers of objection from eighty percent (80%) of the residents within 1,000 feet of the proposed event. Applicants should contact the Zoning Division to receive a map of property owners located within 1,000 feet of the subject property prior to filing the Food Truck Special Event application.
