    State-of-the-Art Terminals

Passenger terminals D and E, are expected to be ready for occupancy by late summer 2007. These 105,000 square-foot ultramodern, three-story buildings will meet the needs of the new mega cruise ships that carry up to 5,000 passengers. Each terminal will have among its special design features and amenities a VIP lounge, a high-tech security screening facility for embarkation, airline counters, and an airport-style conveyor baggage system. Their combined cost is approximately $80 million.

As the embarking passengers enter the spacious ticketing area, they will be standing in front of an uninterrupted 300-foot long and 85-foot high glass wall facing the cruise ship. Disembarking passengers will go through a One Stop Federal Multi-Agency Facility that brings under one roof the earlier functions of the Immigration and Naturalization Service, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
