Operation Port of Call Miami is a program designed to promote and welcome military ships to Greater Miami. Greater Miami is a military friendly community that strongly supports new and existing military related opportunities.
The County Commission, in recognition of the growth and development of Miami's military community, appointed Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose "Pepe" Diaz as the county's military liaison, thereby creating an increased awareness and commitment on behalf of the local government.
Statement of Purpose
Our purpose is tri-fold - economic development, education and opportunity. Economic development in the sense of providing additional commerce and tourist dollars to local businesses, education in the sense of offering a unique and firsthand view of military assets and opportunity in the sense of creating enhanced networks to promote Greater Miami as a great place to live, work and visit.
