(Miami-Dade County, FL) -- To accommodate transit riders who will be attending America's Birthday Bash at Bayfront Park in downtown Miami on Sunday, July 4, 2010, Miami-Dade Transit will run enhanced Metrorail and Metromover service.
Metrorail trains will run every 15 minutes southbound from 6 p.m. until closing, and every 15 minutes northbound from 7 p.m. until closing. The last southbound train from the Government Center Station will depart at 12:23 a.m., and the last northbound train from the Government Center Station will depart at 12:19 a.m. Metromover service will operate to match Metrorail service.
On Monday, July 5th, MDT will provide regular weekday service, except on routes 95 Express and Dade-Broward 95 Express, which will run on a modified schedule.
Those attending America's Birthday Bash and Red Bull Flugtag Miami events will need to use an EASY Card or EASY Ticket loaded with a pass or monetary value to ride Metrorail. In order to avoid long lines, MDT encourages all event goers to load an EASY Card or EASY Ticket prior to the day of the events. Both are available at EASY Card vending machines located at all Metrorail stations, the Golden Glades Park & Ride lot, the Miami International Airport Metrobus depot, and at EASY Card sales outlets.
