Construction of Miami-Dade Transit's AirportLink is in full swing. The following lane closures will be implemented to install guideway segments over SR 112 eastbound.
Temporary Nightly Closures on SR 112 Eastbound & Westbound
From Sunday, August 8 through Saturday, August 14, the following closures will take place from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night. All lanes will reopen every morning at 5:30 a.m.
- Lane Closures on SR 112 westbound: The left (southernmost) and center lanes on SR 112 westbound will be closed nightly between NW 27th Avenue and NW 42nd Avenue/LeJeune Road from 9:00 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
- Full Closure of SR 112 eastbound: All eastbound lanes between NW 42nd Avenue/LeJeune Road and NW 22nd Avenue will be completely closed at 9:00 p.m. each night and will reopen at 5:30 a.m. the following morning. Detour signs will be posted directing motorists to the below alternate routes.
- NW 36th Street to SR 112 eastbound: Motorists traveling east on NW 36th Street who wish to access SR 112 eastbound will be directed to head northbound on NW 22nd Avenue and take the entrance ramp to SR 112 eastbound.
- NW 21th Street to SR 112 eastbound: Motorists traveling west on NW 21th Street who wish to access SR 112 eastbound will be directed to head northbound on NW 42nd Avenue/LeJeune Road and turn east on NW 36th Street then head northbound on NW 22nd Avenue to take the SR 112 eastbound ramp.
- East Okeechobee Road to SR 112 eastbound: Motorists traveling on East Okeechobee Road who wish to access SR 112 eastbound will be directed to head eastbound on NW 36th Street to northbound NW 22nd Avenue and take the eastbound entrance ramp to SR 112.
Please note that the left (northernmost) lane on SR 112 eastbound is and will remain closed until further notice.

The AirportLink project is a 2.4-mile elevated Metrorail extension from the existing Earlington Heights Metrorail Station to the MIC next to Miami International Airport. This vital project will provide a reliable Metrorail connection to the airport for the millions of residents, visitors and employees who travel to and from MIA every year. The project also will provide a boost to the local economy by creating jobs and facilitating work-related travel and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
